ATRA Welcomes Out of Province Student Members

Out of Province Student Memberships Process

  1. Students apply online through the student pathway and pay a $50.00 fee. Students are not eligible for a discount code if not attending one of the three recognized institutions in Alberta.
  2. The application is added to the spreadsheet for MRC approval by the Application Coordinator. MRC meets monthly to review all applications. 
  3. MRC review application to ensure:
    1. The student is in a program in Canada that will meet eligibility for professional membership upon graduation
    2. Proof of student status within the program is provided and can include:
      1. The following ID is accepted:
        1. A picture of your plastic school identification card with a clear view of name and school
        2. A screenshot of your online school profile with a clear view of your name and the course enrolled in
        3. A picture of your enrollment letter with a clear view of name, dates, and course
  4. MRC adds membership status to spreadsheet and returns to the Application Coordinator for processing.
  5. If students do not meet eligibility requirements, the Application Coordinator will send a message informing the applicant that their program does not meet professional membership eligibility upon graduation and is therefore denied. The application payment will be returned to the applicant.
