Professional Member - Degree Applicant
After you have completed the online Professional Member - Degree Application Form you are required to complete the next step as it applies to you:
- Pathway 1 Academic Track - Upload the following required forms:
- Your official academic transcript
- Therapeutic Recreation Practicum Placement Confirmation Form_2025.docx - Google Docs
- Pathway 2 Certification Track - No further forms are required, ATRA will confirm with NCTRC regarding the CTRS number entered on the application form.

Professional Member - Diploma Applicant
After you have completed the online Professional Member - Diploma Application Form
- Pathway 1 Academic Track - Upload the following required forms:
- Your official academic transcript
- Therapeutic Recreation Practicum Placement Confirmation Form_2025.docx - Google Docs
Student Member Applicant
After you have completed the online Student Member Application Form you are required to upload proof of student ID which can include any of the following:
- Picture of your student identification card
- Screenshot of your active online profile with clear view of your name and post secondary
- A Verification of Enrolment Letter in PDF form
Alumni Member Applicant
Apply for this category if you are currently a Professional Member and meet the following requirements:
- Retiring from practice within the membership year (If you continue to work casually, please retain your professional or supporting membership).
- Moved from Alberta but wish to maintain support for the objectives of the TR profession in Alberta.
- Do not apply for this category if you are not currently working in the TR Field but intend to return to TR employment. Your options are to renew as a Professional or Supporting Member or let your membership lapse. See information in the Return to Practice Pathway.
